As a former long distance runner I felt tremendous discomfort increasing milage while training for races.
Today, my discomfort comes in a different form.
As my manuscript for my book comes to completion, the growth I experienced writing about my story has been life altering.

In order to be healthy mentally, emotionally and physically, self-care is a responsibility we have to ourselves that’s within our individual control. After all, we are the best judge of what we need. Listen to yourself.
After losing my mom 13 days ago my sadness and grief has been overwhelming at times. Part of my self-care is to surround myself with people that I love.
Thank you to my beautiful friends for your support. I’m so grateful to have you in my life. You’re making this journey easier for me.

My writing over the past 10 days became a story of life and death. The loss of a loved one helps put life and death into perspective. Sometimes you begin seeing things more clearly.
I’m glad I was there for you mom. Holding your hand until the end. You will be missed and held in our hearts forever.

A good friend introduced me to binaural beats.
These beautiful beats can induce the same mental state as a meditation practice but more quickly.
Our brains generate random thoughts to a tune of 50,000 per day.
Clearing the mind of negative thoughts and reducing stress is important for our well being. I’ve now incorporated both meditation and binaural beats into my daily practice. I’ll share the link that my friend shared with me.
