In Chapter Six of my book, The Dissociate: A Memoir of Secrets and Survival of Childhood Sexual Abuse I talk about the healing continuum and all the ups and down you experience through the healing process.

Stage Three, I talk about having a voice and breaking the silence. “It takes a great deal of courage to share what happened to you. The powerful healing force behind telling another human being will help you move forward.”
I’m grateful to receive hundreds of notes and emails from survivors and supporters. One in particular, was an email from a fellow warrior. I met this brave woman at one of my public book signing events.
“Because of you, I sought out Rachel Grant and am halfway through her Beyond Surviving group program. She has been such a blessing in my healing journey- this kind of program was exactly what I needed. I had talked to 3 different therapists and had a psychologist but wasn’t getting what I needed or felt like it was helping. Now, with the help of Rachel’s program, I am letting go of the shame behind my childhood abuse and wasn’t even aware of my abandonment issues until I read that chapter!
So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for your courage to write your book. I owe a big part of my healing journey to you.” ~ Leanne
