I am profoundly grateful for this anonymous review. Every message like this affirms the purpose of sharing my story, to break silence, to heal and to let others know their voices matter. I continue to receive multiple emails each month from survivors, supporters, and health professionals, reminding me that this work is reaching hearts and creating connection.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

Dear Debbie,
I was often moved to tears while reading your book. I deeply admire your courage to share your adverse childhood experiences in such an open and honest way. Your memoir is a precious gift, not only as part of your own healing but also as an inspiration to others who may have gone through similar pain and hurt yet still lack the courage to speak about it. Many continue carrying self-blame and shame, with the heavy message of “something is wrong with me” or “I am not good enough.” These hidden inner wounds often spill into adulthood, affecting almost every area of life, including self-trust and relationships as a spouse, parent, colleague, or friend.

What struck me most is how hard it is for survivors to live in silence and disconnection, losing their sense of self and carrying shame, anger, and guilt without relief or healing. In my own reflection, I see these experiences as traumatic accidents, caused not by the survivor, but by someone reckless and irresponsible who did not respect boundaries, choice, or safety. It may sound simple to describe in words, but living through that ongoing pain and hurt without self-awareness or support is profoundly tragic.

Thank you, Debbie, for finding the strength to share your story and healing journey with the world. You have tapped into your inner power to move through immense challenges and shift onto a spiritual path, one where you love yourself unconditionally, find joy in the present, and live fully. I am so proud and grateful to see you rise above the obstacles and create a life of meaning with your son and loved ones. Sending you love, respect, and heartfelt wishes for all your life chapters yet to come.
With warmth and admiration,
Sam

Over the past year I received countless messages from men & women (survivors and supporters) from all over the world. I made it a goal to respond to each of you.  Thank-you for all the messages and keep up the difficult work of healing. You can do it!

Recently, I received yet another note that touched my heart.

“Debbie Ehrstien’s authentic and unabashed honesty when talking about a topic very close to my heart was inspiring and loving company for me through a period of struggling and healing, and continues to be to this day. Her connection to dance and movement discussed in the book struck me in particular, and I am endlessly thankful that she was brave enough to share her story!”  ~ anonymous

Break the silence and start your healing journey today. You’ll soon realize how strong, courageous and spectacular you really are.

You are not alone.

I started positive journaling a few months ago. It has allowed me to focus on all the positive attributes of my life.

Gratitude really does reduce stress. Recognizing what I am thankful for on a daily basis even during the most difficult times fosters resilience within me.❤️
